Vishal Choudhary, an M.Sc. student of School of Agricultural Biotechnology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), secured admission in Doctorate Programme in UniLaSalle Institute Beauvais, France.
He completed his M.Sc. under the guidance of Dr. Navraj Kaur Sarao and worked on “Marker assisted introgression of male sterile ms-1 gene in elite muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.) variety.” He developed fusarium wilt resistant superior male sterile line to be used in hybrid breeding programme of muskmelon.
During his Ph.D., Vishal Choudhary will work under the guidance of Dr Eduardo D. Munaz, Assistant Professor and Researcher at UniLaSalle Institute Beauvais, France.
He will work in a research project entitled “Implementation of molecular genetic and omic studies in the wheat breeding program” which is in collaboration with a wheat production industry Lemaire Deffontaines, France. He will be provided with a remuneration amount of 2300 Euros per month under CIFRE scheme.
These achievements bring pride to the university and underscore its commitment to fostering outstanding researchers in the field of plant Biotechnology for the benefit of the state and the nation.
