Two B.Tech. Biotechnology graduates from Punjab Agricultural University’s School of Agricultural Biotechnology (SAB), Ms. Mathanki Mehra and Ms. Aanchal Bhatia, have reached significant academic milestones by securing admission to prestigious Master’s programs abroad.
Giving details, Dr. Parveen Chhuneja, Director of the School of Agricultural Biotechnology, informed that Mathanki Mehra has been accepted into the Master of Biotechnology programme at Deakin University, Australia.
Recognizing her outstanding academic performance, she has been awarded the Vice Chancellor’s 100% Meritorious Scholarship, valued at AUD 67,600. At the same time, Aanchal Bhatia has earned a place in the Master’s programme within the Department of Biological Sciences at Auburn University, Alabama, where Dr. Adriana Avila-Flores will mentor her. Aanchal has been awarded an annual fellowship of US $24,528.
Both graduates attributed their success to the comprehensive education and hands-on training PAU’s School of Agricultural Biotechnology provided.
The state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge curriculum equipped them with advanced biotechnological skills, enabling them to excel in their chosen fields and secure placements at these esteemed international institutions.
Dr. Parveen Chhuneja, Director of the School of Agricultural Biotechnology, emphasized the critical role of the faculty’s dedication to teaching and research in shaping students’ careers.

PAU Vice Chancellor Dr. S.S. Gosal congratulated Mathanki and Aanchal on their remarkable achievements, underscoring the university’s role in supporting students in pursuing advanced studies and international opportunities.
Dr. Charanjit Singh Aulakh, Dean of the College of Agriculture, and Dr. M.I.S. Gill, Dean of Postgraduate Studies, also praised the students for securing these prestigious fellowships, highlighting PAU’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and promoting international outreach.
