PAU Alumnus Dr. Abhay Grover gets selected as Assistant Prof at US Varsity

An alumnus of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Dr Abhay Grover has brought laurels to his alma-mater by getting selected as an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain and Operations Management at the College of Business, University of Wyoming, USA.

Dr Grover holds B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering from PAU, India (2012); has earned his Ph.D. in Business and Management with a major in Supply Chain Management from the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park (2024); and received his MS in Industrial and Agricultural Technology and Systems Engineering from the Iowa State University, Ames (2017).

During his academic career at PAU, he received numerous accolades for his all-around performance, including college color and merit for literature, college merit for theater and academics, University Best Actor Award (2009), University Best Debater Award (2011), Best Student Award from the Indian Society for Technical Education (2012) and Swami Vivekananda State Youth Award (2011).

Besides, Dr Grover has received several national and international recognitions for both his research and industry practice, including the Center for International Business Research Award, Frédéric Bastiat Fellowship on Political Economy, Warner Professional Practice Award, Iowa State University Research Excellence Award, John Deere’s Commendable Contribution Award, Allan Nash Outstanding Doctoral Student Award, and Purdue University’s Borlaug Fellowship.

Previously, he has served as a Senior Industry Extension Specialist at the Center for Industrial Research and Service, Iowa State University; and worked with John Deere, the world’s largest manufacturer of farm equipment, in production and supply chain operations both in India and the US.

At the University of Wyoming, Dr Grover will draw upon his extensive research background and more than seven years of practical industry experience in agribusiness and supply chain operations. His research areas include Food Safety and Quality Management, Autonomous Technologies for Food Distribution, and Food Policies and Regulations.

The overarching goal of his research is to develop robust, resilient, and efficient agri-food value chains by understanding how external factors such as technology and regulatory environments shape agri-food supply chain strategies, operations, and performance.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr Manjeet Singh, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology; and Dr Preetinder Kaur, President of Alumni Association, congratulated Dr Grover on his significant achievement.
