US Body North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) strongly condemned the attack on Mrs. Harmeet Dhillon, a prominent Indian-American attorney who is running for Republican National Committee (RNC) chairwoman.
Disclosing this NAPA Executive director Satnam Singh Chahal who is on an India trip said that she is facing bigoted attacks from her fellow party leaders because of her Sikh faith and asserted that she would not give up and continue to be in the race for the top position.
Chahal disclosed that Harmeet Dhillon, 54, a former California Republican Party Co-Chair, is contesting against powerful Ronna McDaniel for the position. If and property and live is not secured of Sikhs in United Stated then how can we live and survive there. added Chahal
Chahal further said that she is facing bigoted attacks from her fellow party leaders because of her Sikh faith and asserted that she would not give up and continue to be in the race for the top position. Chahal said that Harmeet Dhillon is in high spirit and we can clear the air to all the fellow Americans that no amount of threats to her or her team, or bigoted attacks on her faith traceable directly to associates of the chair, will deter her from advancing positive change at the RNC, which includes new standards of accountability, transparency, integrity, and decency,” In a series social media of tweets Dhillon said she received a number of threatening tweets on Monday.
As published in a Politico newspaper in a report said that opponents have begun raising concerns about her Sikh faith — a development that has left some members of the committee unsettled. Racial attacks of Members of Sikh community are increasing day by day and there seems to be no end of these kinds of racial attacks.
Chahal further said that racial and hate crimes has no place in the well cultured American Society. “We are the community of faith, family, and freedom, and these attacks have no place in our any party or our politics,
Chahal said that rather than to condemn these kinds of racial attacks NAPA will campaign to let the fellow American know that Sikh community is playing in important role in the all over devolvement of United States.
