Moga police achieved a big breakthrough when they got hold of 10 accused wanted by Police in a double murder case. Police were successful in arresting 3 accused within a few days of the incident and finally succeeded in nabbing the other accused.
While giving this information, Mr Surinderjeet Singh Mand Senior Superintendent of Police said that the incident took place on 17th September 2021 when a married couple was beaten, abducted and finally murdered by family members and relatives of the girl’s side. This was a case of honour killing as the couple married against the wishes of the girl’s family.
A case bearing FIR number 199 under section 302 (Murder), 452 (House trespass after preparation for hurt, assault and wrongful restraint), 364 (kidnapping or abducting to murder), 148 (Rioting armed with a deadly weapon) and 149 (unlawful assembly is guilty of an offence)of IPC.
He said that a special team consisting of ASP Nihal Singh Wala, SHO SI Nirmaljit Singh, SI Amrinder Singh Gill SHO Khuian Server along with other Police officers worked continuously on this case and traced and finally succeeded in arresting 10 accused from different places. The team is working continuously to arrest other accused as well.
A police team is further analysing the evidence and interrogation of the accused will help clarify the facts, story, intentions and role of various accused in this murder case.
