Mini Bus Operators call off strike after assurance of Transport Minister Laljit Bhullar

Chandigarh/Amritsar, May 19, 2022 (Yes Punjab News)
After the intervention and assurance of Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, Mini Bus operators called off their strike on Thursday. The Cabinet Minister assured the protesting mini bus operators that their demands will be considered sympathetically in meeting with Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Transport Minister clarified to Mini bus operators that their bus permits have been revoked by the Hon’ble High Court and after that no relief has been given by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, hence it is not possible for the state government to restore permits in such cases. But, he assured them, “I will sympathetically consider your demands with the officials of Transport Department before discussing the matter with the Chief Minister as the government want their employment not to be affected and they continuously serve the people.”

After the assurance of the Transport Minister, the bus owners announced to end the strike.

Later, the Minister paid obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar and offered Ardass for the well-being of the state.
