Indore, September 14, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

“The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams,” and IAS officer Shraddha Gome truly exemplifies this sentiment.

Shraddha’s inspiring journey from being a top student to achieving success in some of the toughest exams in India, including CLAT and UPSC, is a remarkable story of perseverance and dedication.

Early Life and Education

Hailing from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Shraddha Gome was always a bright student. Her father, Ramesh Kumar Gome, is a retired SBI officer, and her mother, Vandana, is a homemaker. Shraddha completed her schooling at St. Raphael’s H.S. School in Indore, where she excelled in academics. She topped both her Class 10 (matriculation) and Class 12 (intermediate) examinations, setting the stage for her future success.

CLAT Topper and Gold Medalist

After excelling in her school education, Shraddha decided to pursue a career in law. She appeared for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and emerged as the topper. This achievement earned her admission to one of India’s most prestigious law schools, the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bangalore.

Medals and Legal Career

During her convocation, Shraddha was honored with 13 gold medals, presented by the then Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra, for her outstanding academic performance. Her legal career began at Hindustan Unilever Ltd., where she worked as a legal manager under the prestigious Unilever Future Leaders Program, gaining valuable experience in London and Mumbai.

Transition to UPSC Aspirant

Despite her success in law, Shraddha felt drawn to public service and decided to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE). After completing her graduation, she returned to Indore and began her preparation. She chose law as her optional subject for the UPSC exam and primarily relied on self-study, using her NLSIU notes to prepare for her optional subject.

Cracking the UPSC on Her First Attempt

In 2021, Shraddha Gome appeared for the UPSC CSE examination. With rigorous preparation and focus, she cleared both the preliminary and main exams on her first attempt. For the final stage—the interview—Shraddha moved to Delhi to prepare for the personality test round. Her hard work paid off when she secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 60 in the UPSC CSE examination.

Social Media Presence and Influence

Shraddha Gome is not only a successful IAS officer but also an influential figure on social media. With over 19.3k followers on Instagram, she regularly shares insights from her life and her journey through the UPSC examination, inspiring many aspirants across the country.
