Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau honours its Heroes who exposed corrupt officials

Chandigarh, August 2, 2023 (Yes Punjab News)
The Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) organized a felicitation function to recognize and honour individuals who played a proactive role in realizing the state government’s vision of a corruption-free Haryana.

The event, held at the ACB headquarters in Panchkula today, was presided over by the Director General of Anti Corruption Bureau, Haryana, Sh. Shatrujeet Kapur. During the ceremony, Sh. Kapur presented ‘Samman Patras’ to 17 complainants of Panchkula Range, who exhibited exceptional courage by coming forward and filing complaints against corruption.

Similar felicitation functions are also being organized in this week in all other Range offices of the ACB including Ambala, Karnal, Rohtak, Hisar, Gurugram and Faridabad in which a total of 132 complainants will be honoured.

In his address, Sh. Kapur hailed the complainants as real heroes for their pivotal role in building an honest society by exposing corrupt officials. He acknowledged that it is not an easy task to come forward and complain, considering the prevalence of corruption in society. The complainants face a lot of pressure during the entire case proceedings, but their actions have been instrumental in serving the nation and promoting corruption-free governance in the state.

Interacting with the complainants, Sh. Kapur also assured them that any harassment or pressure they face would be dealt with promptly. He encouraged the complainants to report such instances to the concerned investigating officer or the toll-free number 1800-180-2022, ensuring immediate action from the ACB.

He also urged the complainants to inspire others by sharing their experiences and informing at least 10 people that standing against corruption is good for the society. Corruption, he emphasized, is a societal disease that can only be eradicated by raising our collective voice against it.

The spokesperson also informed that ACB has already registered a record 100 trap cases and apprehended over 99 corrupt officials, including several Class I and II officers, so far in the year 2023, showcasing their commitment to combat corruption effectively.

Sh. Kapur also highlighted the operation of a revolving fund of Rs 1 crore to provide ‘trap money’ for complainants, alleviating their worries about arranging funds from their own pockets during trap cases. Funds are being regularly disbursed from this fund to the needy complainants.

Additional Director General of Police, ACB Sh. Ajay Singhal, DIG ACB Headquarters Sh. Pankaj Nain, Superintendent of Police ACB Headquarters Sh. Kushal Singh, and other distinguished officers were also present on this occasion.

The ACB further urged the people to report any instances of officials from government departments demanding bribes in exchange for official duties. Complaints can be made via the toll-free numbers 1800-180-2022 and 1064, as well as the Whatsapp number 094178-91064.
