Communal Corporate Alliance will lose nationwide; Left parties support Congress in Punjab LS elections

Jalandhar, May 16, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

The communal corporate alliance will face defeat in the country as a government of secular and democratic forces is set to form, announced Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Sekho, State Secretary of CPI(M), and Comrade Bant Singh Brar, State Secretary of CPI, at a press conference at the CPI(M) office in Jalandhar.

They revealed that left-leaning candidates are contesting elections in four Lok Sabha seats in Punjab: Master Parshotam Bilga from Jalandhar for CPI(M), Comrade Gurdyal Singh from Khadur Sahib, Comrade Gurcharan Singh Mann from Faridkot, and Bibi Jaswinder Kaur from Amritsar for CPI.

Despite the Congress party’s failure to build the India alliance in Punjab, CPI and CPI(M) have decided to take on their political responsibility. Party cadres and voters will support Congress candidates in nine Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, while fielding their own candidates in the remaining four seats.

The parties will conduct a joint and independent election campaign to defeat the communal corporate coalition. However, the leaders clarified that they would not share the election platform with the Congress.

They emphasized the importance of defeating the BJP Modi government at the center and establishing a government of secular and democratic forces. The left-wing forces will work to strengthen their presence in the Lok Sabha elections, aiming to correct the dangerous religious, social, economic, and political situation created by the Modi government.
