Senior Congress leader and former Punjab minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu was Monday remanded to judicial custody by a Jalandhar court in ‘Money Laundering Case’ linked to the infamous ‘Transport Tender Scam’.
Arrested by ED on August 1, the former minister was remanded twice for 5-5 days to ED custody and was produced in the court today after his remand ended.
The Congress leader was summoned to join the the investigation in Jalandhar office of the ED. Ashu arrived at 11.00 in the morning was formally arrested in the evening.
Ashu, a former Food and Civil Supplies Minister of the State, was earlier arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in a case related to the tender scam. He is out on bail after remaining in jail for a long time.
