Shocked at the humiliating treatment meted out to a Sikh youth by the West Bengal Police, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has asked his counterpart Mamata Banerjee to act against the erring officials.
Stating clearly that ‘this is not done’, Capt Amarinder said the incident of pulling Sikh youth’s turban during his arrest has hurt the sentiments of the community.
In a tweet, tweeted by Raveen Thukral, the Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder said, ‘not done, he said and expressed shock at humiliating treatment of a Sikh youth by West Bengal Police who he said that reportedly pulled off his turban during arrest.
He urged the WB Chief Minister to take stringent possible action against the guilty for hurting sentiments of the Sikh community.
