The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday announced the appointment of district presidents for 16 organisational districts in Punjab as part of its ongoing organisational strengthening drive in the state.
According to an official order issued by BJP Punjab State General Secretary Rakesh Rathour, the appointments have been made with the consent of BJP National President Nitin Nabin, while Punjab BJP President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon has appointed the district presidents.
The newly appointed district presidents are:
- Amritsar Rural-II (Majitha): S. Kanwarbir Singh Manzil
- Amritsar Urban: S. Salil Kapoor
- Barnala: Shri Narinder Garg Neeta
- Faridkot: Shri Gaurav Kakar
- Fazilka: S. Sukhwinder Singh Kaka Kamboj
- Hoshiarpur Rural: Shri Yogesh Sapra
- Hoshiarpur Urban: Shri Satish Thakur Bawa
- Jalandhar Urban: Shri Ashok Sareen Hickey
- Jalandhar Rural North: S. Manmeet Singh Vicky
- Jalandhar Rural South: S. Jabgir Singh Brar
- Kapurthala: Shri Chetan Suri
- Ludhiana Urban: Shri Sunil Moudgil
- Muktsar: Shri Satish Asija
- Ropar: S. Ajayveer Singh Lapora
- Sangrur-I: S. Matinder Singh
- Tarn Taran: S. Satnam Singh Bhullar
The appointments are part of the BJP’s efforts to further strengthen its organisational structure at the district level ahead of its upcoming political and organisational programmes in Punjab.
District presidents play a key role in coordinating party activities, expanding the organisation at the grassroots level, overseeing membership drives and implementing the party’s programmes in their respective organisational districts.
