Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Mann visited the flood affected areas of Kharar, today, to take stock of the havoc played by floods due to incessant rain.
The Minister issued instructions to the concerned officials to ensure that there is no loss of life or property in the constituency due to heavy rain.
Giving more information , the Minister said that due to inclement weather conditions and continuous rain, the administrative officials have been asked to keep a constant watch and provide immediate assistance if necessary for the complete safety of the people in the affected areas of Kharar. She said that the situation of storm water in Kharar is under control. The teams are working continuously for complete drainage of rain water.
She said that emergency services have been ensured for the needy and rain-affected people. She said that in addition to the existing landlines of the district administration-Mohali-0172-2219505, Derabassi-01762-283224, Kharar-0160-2280853, mobile helplines have also been set up. In case of non-operational landline, the mobile numbers can be contacted on Mohali-76580-51209, 73476-61642, Kharar-94642-34000 and Derabassi-98550-25466, 79733-60184.
The minister appealed to the people that there is no need to panic over the situation caused by the rain. The Punjab government stands with the people in all odds. Adequate arrangements have been made by the Punjab government to deal with the situation caused by the heavy rains, she added.
