MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla visited Gurdwara Sri Damdama Sahib in village Bhindi Aulakh Khurd (Rajasansi Assembly constituency) on Sunday. He expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of the Gurdwara’s chief Sewadar Baba Mukhtar Singh and Sewadar Ajepal Singh, who lost their lives in an accident while performing Seva. During his visit, he paid obeisance at the Gurdwara and offered prayers for the peace of the departed souls.
MP Aujla met the bereaved families to offer his condolences, noting that Baba Mukhtar Singh had dedicated his entire life to service and the welfare of humanity. He described the death of the young Sewadar Ajepal Singh—who was serving alongside him—as a deeply tragic and irreparable loss. He remarked that the spirit of service and dedication shown by both men would continue to serve as an inspiration to society.
It is noteworthy that, some time ago, at the request of a family, Baba Mukhtar Singh had gone to help demolish an old, dilapidated house and clear the debris. He was accompanied by 13-year-old Sewadar Ajepal Singh. Suddenly, the heavy concrete roof of the house collapsed, trapping both of them beneath the rubble. Although locals immediately launched rescue operations, neither could be saved. This tragedy had plunged the entire region into mourning.
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla stated that the spirit of selfless service is a hallmark of the Sikh tradition, and both Baba Mukhtar Singh and Ajepal Singh sacrificed their lives while helping others in this very spirit. He affirmed that society would always remember their contributions. He also assured the family members of all possible support.
A large number of devotees and local dignitaries were present at the Gurdwara to pay tribute to the departed souls and express their condolences to the bereaved families.
