Akali Dal “Waris Punjab De” is set to organize a massive panthic gathering in Ludhiana on April 26. In this regard, a press conference was held here today. The conference was addressed by party’s Punjab Coordinator Paramjit Singh Johal, senior leader Rajeev Kumar Lovely, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib Coordinator Sandeep Singh Rupalon, and organizer of the panthic gathering Gurpreet Singh Sonu.
On this occasion, senior leaders Rajeev Kumar Lovely and Gurpreet Singh Sonu stated that Akali Dal “Waris Punjab De” is committed to the all-round development of the state. They informed that the gathering will be held at 12 noon on April 26 at Asha Rani Park, 33 Futa Road, near Ram Nagar, Mundian Kalan, Ludhiana. The event will be attended by the party’s patron Bapu Tarsem Singh along with senior leadership. They added that there is tremendous enthusiasm among the people for the party’s policies and a large number of people are expected to participate.
Meanwhile, Paramjit Singh Johal appealed to people to participate in large numbers in the panthic gathering. He revealed that on the occasion of Baisakhi, the party had organized its biggest conference so far. Speaking about MP Bhai Amritpal Singh Khalsa, he said that Amritpal worked for the welfare of Punjab, but the state and central governments, under a conspiracy, falsely imposed the NSA on him and sent him to Dibrugarh jail. He said that the NSA has now been revoked, and if any offence is made out, the case should be tried in Punjab itself. He questioned why hearings are being conducted in Assam when the cases are registered in Punjab, calling the government’s approach condemnable.
He further stated that the state is currently facing serious challenges such as gangsterism, drug abuse, and a deteriorating law and order situation. In such circumstances, Akali Dal “Waris Punjab De” alone can lead the state towards development and prosperity. He announced that Bhai Amritpal Singh Khalsa will be the party’s Chief Ministerial face in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
Responding to questions from journalists, Johal clarified that the party’s ideology welcomes people from all sections, irrespective of religion—be it Hindu, Sikh, or Muslim—provided their character is clean. Regarding an alliance with Akali Dal “Punar Surjeet,” he stated that an 8-member committee has been formed to coordinate with like-minded organizations.
Similarly, Sandeep Singh Rupalon said that the overwhelming public support for the party indicates that a panthic government is likely to be formed in Punjab after the 2027 Assembly elections, which will take all sections of society along.
