Allahabad High Court Justice YK Srivastava lauds PAU Museums for preserving Heritage

Ludhiana, Aug 16 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

During an official visit to Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today, Justice YK Srivastava of the Allahabad High Court expressed high admiration for the Museum of Social History of Punjab and the Soil and Water Resource Museum.

He commended the museum for its exceptional preservation and portrayal of Punjab’s rich cultural heritage, noting its unique focus on the everyday lives of common people, as opposed to many other cultural museums that primarily highlight the histories of royalty.

Justice Srivastava emphasized the museum’s significance in allowing visitors to connect with their roots by providing a glimpse into how ancestors lived, worked, and interacted a century ago.

He praised the carefully curated and preserved collection, which includes old coins, artefacts, kitchen utilities, farm implements, and traditional Punjabi handicrafts.

Accompanied by officials from the police and agriculture departments, the visiting team also visited the Soil and Water Resource Museum, a vital resource promoting awareness and innovation in the sustainable management of soil and water.

Earlier in the day, Justice Srivastava met with PAU Vice Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal to receive an overview of the university’s major focus areas.

Additional Director of Communication Dr. Tejinder Singh Riar and Head of Extension Education Dr. Kuldeep Singh honoured the dignitary during his visit. Mr. Varinder Singh from the Communication Centre coordinated the visit.
