Newly appointed chairman of Punjab Youth Development Board Mr Sukhwinder Singh Bindra has informed that there are around 13,500 youth clubs registered with the Youth Services Department in the state, out of which maximum were formed fraudulently before the Congress formed government in state in 2017, and their affiliations would be terminated.

He said this during the surprise check of office of Youth Services Department in District Administrative Complex, here today.

While speaking to media persons on the occasion, Mr Bindra informed that there are around 13,500 youth clubs registered with the department in the state, out of which only around 3,500 are functioning properly in real terms, whereas the remaining are non performing and are not involved in any work on ground level. He said that majority of the non performing youth clubs were formed and affiliated during the tenure of previous Punjab government.
