On the solemn anniversary of the passing of the esteemed Jathedar Panth Ratan Gurcharan Singh Tohra, numerous members of the Sangat convened to honor their beloved leader. Jathedar Santa Singh Umaidpur made a special journey to pay his respects, offering a bouquet of flowers in tribute. He passionately remarked that Jathedar Tohra Sahib was an unwavering champion of the Panth and Punjab.
Referring to him as the father of modern Punjab, Jathedar Umaidpur highlighted how Tohra Sahib fortified the region’s peace and fostered communal unity during a time when Punjab faced formidable challenges from all sides.
Jathedar Umaidpuri conveyed a powerful message to the BJP leaders who gathered to pay their respects, asserting that a genuine tribute to Jathedar Tohra would entail taking decisive action on the urgent issues plaguing Punjab.
He passionately called for the immediate release of Sikh detainees and insisted that the water dispute be resolved. He urged the establishment of a capital for the state and advocated for a substantial financial package dedicated to the border regions of Punjab.
Moreover, Jathedar Umaidpuri highlighted the need to enhance the state’s involvement in the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB). He underscored the importance of establishing fast-track courts to deliver justice for the victims of heinous acts, such as the Charasi massacre, ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to account.
Lastly, he demanded the liberation of youths unjustly detained under the misuse of stringent laws like the National Security Act (NSA).
His words resonated with urgency and compassion, calling for a brighter future for the people of Punjab.
