Separate teams of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Haryana has arrested a Head Constable and a Special Police Officer (SPO) on the charges of corruption in Faridabad and Mahendergarh districts.
Arrested Head Constable Tulsidas posted at Police Station Dabua in Faridabad district was taking a bribe of Rs 8,000 while the SPO Shyam Sunder posted in Summon Staff, Narnaul was nabbed for demanding Rs 25,000 from the complainant.
Sharing the information here today, a spokesperson of the ACB informed that complainant Rajesh has approached the Bureau and alleged that the accused Head Constable demanded money in lieu of releasing his nephew and others on police bail in a case. After verifying the complaint, a team of ACB has laid a trap and nabbed accused Head Constable red-handed while taking Rs 8,000 as a bribe from the complainant in the presence of two independent witnesses.
In another case, ACB team had arrested SPO Shyam Sunder on the charges of demanding bribe of Rs 25,000 from the complainant in lieu of not arresting him on an arrest warrant.
Cases Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered against both accused at ACB police stations. Further investigation is under progress.
