District Police SBS Nagar Today Observed Mothers’Day with a distinction. A special program organised at local ITI Ground to salute the work of mother cops to appreciate their dedication towards their work to serve the nation, in these days of COVID lockdown.
SSP Alka Meena who gave surprise to all the mother cops in SBS Nagar district by organising this special day, said that being the mother of a little master, I understand the problems of the working women being faced by them during the upbringing of their children. “It was an apt opportunity to salute the work of a mother as well as the duty of a police personnel, so we organised a small interaction with all the mothers in our deptt to express gratitude to them with a small gift.”
These women are serving the nation with complete dedication in these tough times and taking care of the needs of their children too. Managing both the duties with equal determination and living upto the expectations of the society as police officers and of their children as mothers, they sacrifice their happiness for the happiness and Safty of others, these wonder women deserve nothing short of a standing ovation on this day.
“We also heard the problems that were being faced by our braveheart female personnel and tried to sort them out as much as possible.”she added.
Sharing her experience, a single mother Sunita Rani who is working as a constable said that it was very difficult to take care of children with police duty but she is handling both duties of mother as well as police. Randeep Kaur gets nostalgic, when she recalled that how she manage to leave her one year old baby at home to attend duty. Another police personnel, Mandeep Kaur told that to continue her job with her triplets was very difficult but she chose both responsibilites and keeping them firmly.
Anju Bala said that when she was going on duty even on Sunday, there were innocent queries by children, today is holiday. ASI Amarjit Kaur said, “whenever we have to go for duty in the wee hours, we wake them up at 4 am and after getting them ready, again ask them to go to bed till the timing of school.
It for very tough for the mother cops that to spend sufficient time with their kids, thay can’t celebrate any function or even birthdays of their kids with them in the line of their duty.
SSP Alka Meena said that she also had to respond a number of queries of his little son, when she had to go out for duty and after getting back to home.They all said that they are very proud of being in police department where they got a chance to serve the society and nation.
DSP Deepika Singh was also present to assist the SSP in the observance of this special day. SSP Alka Meena was also felicitated by her staff on this occasion with a specially designed greeting card having a snap of her with son.
