Delhi Akali Unit Indicates Potential Support for Uddhav Thackeray in Maharashtra Elections

New Delhi, July 10, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

Following the Lok Sabha elections, Akalis loyal to former Punjab Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal have suggested their potential support for Uddhav Thackeray in the upcoming Maharashtra elections.

“We must support parties committed to safeguarding the Indian Constitution and resisting forces that threaten its secular foundations,” said Akali leader Harvinder Singh Sarna at a crowded gathering of the party’s Delhi unit.

“Shri Uddhav Thackeray has courageously confronted anti-Constitutional forces. We urge our party high command to consider supporting Shri Uddhav Thackeray and his Sena in the Maharashtra elections.”

In his address, Delhi Akali chief Paramjit Singh Sarna slammed the ruling BJP’s “Operation Lotus” tactics, aimed at destabilizing Sardar Badal’s leadership due to his refusal to ally with forces opposing Punjab, Sikhs, and farmers.

“Operation Lotus will fail and backfire,” he warned. “We stand beside Sardar Badal as a rock.”

Manjit Singh GK echoed Sarna’s sentiments in his speech.
