Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal has announced the name of one more candidate of the party for 2022 Punjab Elections.
RD Sharma has been named SAD candidate for Ludhiana North Vidhan Sabha seat. Sharma was elected councilor thrice and had been deputy mayor of the city.
The SAD and the BSP had yesterday announced the swap of two seats. According to the earlier arrangement Ludhina North was to be contested by the BSP.
The seats swapped yesterday including Mohali and Ludhiana North. These two seats, which were to be contested by BSP would now be fought by SAD. In exchange, two seats in SAD kitty – Raikot and Dina Nagar – have now gone to BSP.
With today’s announcement the SAD has announced 84 candidates out of 97 it is likely to contest as per arrangement between SAD and BSP.
It is pertinent to mention here that as per alliance terms, the SAD will fight 97 seats while the BSP will contest the remaining 20 seats.
