Punjab BJP Supports Demands of PSPCL Employees: Kewal Dhillon

Chandigarh, July 22, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon expressed concern over the ongoing strike by employees of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) and their long-pending demands, stating that the BJP stands firmly with the employees in support of their demands.

Dhillon said that PSPCL employees have been raising issues related to pay anomalies, release of pending Dearness Allowance (DA) installments, promotions, regular recruitment against vacant posts, regularisation of outsourced employees, restoration of allowances, service-related anomalies, and other long-pending matters. However, the Punjab Government has failed to address these concerns with the seriousness they deserve.

He said that power employees are the backbone of Punjab’s electricity infrastructure. Even during extreme heat, heavy rains, and emergency situations, they continue to work round the clock, often risking their lives to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people. Resolving their issues is the responsibility of the government.

Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon urged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to immediately initiate a constructive dialogue with the employees’ representatives and ensure a time-bound resolution of their pending demands. The government should choose the path of dialogue and consensus instead of confrontation.

He also appealed to the striking employees to keep the larger public interest in mind and make every possible effort to ensure that essential power services remain unaffected, so that farmers, industries, hospitals, and the general public do not face undue hardship.

Dhillon said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has always stood for the rights and welfare of employees, workers, and the common people. The BJP believes that protecting employees’ interests while ensuring uninterrupted public services are equally important. He urged the Punjab Government to address the employees’ demands with sincerity and resolve them at the earliest in the interest of industrial harmony and public welfare.
