In a proud moment for Amritsar Airport, Malaysian airline carrier, Air Asia X has honored the airport with the ‘Best Station Award’ for July 2024. Air Asia X, one of the world’s largest low-cost carriers, operates four weekly direct flights between Amritsar & Kuala Lumpur.
The award recognizes the Amritsar Airport station’s exceptional on-time performance, low mishandled bag rate, and high Net Promoter Score (NPS) among the 24 airports in the Air Asia X network worldwide.
Bir Singh Bagga, the Station Manager for Air Asia X at Amritsar, shared the exciting news on social media, stating, “This achievement is a testament to our hard work and passion. It is truly the teamwork that makes such successes possible.
” Bagga extended heartfelt gratitude to his entire Amritsar Airport team, acknowledging each member’s unwavering commitment to excellence.
The FlyAmritsar Initiative (FAI) and Amritsar Vikas Manch (AVM) – non-government organizations that played a pivotal role in the launch of these flights in August 2018 – congratulated the Air Asia X Amritsar Airport staff on their outstanding achievement.
A delegation of AVM and FAI, including Kulwant Singh Ankhi, Manmohan Singh Brar, Rajwinder Singh Gill, Yogesh Kamra and JP Singh honored Air Asia X Station manager Bir Singh Bagga and Chief Security Officer Gurdeep Singh.

The airline plays a crucial role in connecting the Punjabi community from various destinations across South East Asia – including Melbourne, Sydney, Perth in Australia, Bangkok, Phuket, Manilla, Hong Kong and Bali – with Amritsar, Punjab via Kuala Lumpur.
