Senior Congress leaders, including former minister and Kapurthala MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh, Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla, legislators Pargat Singh, Ladi Sherowali, and several former ministers and MLAs, today joined the party candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu’s campaign in Ludhiana West.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana Gurjeet asserted that the entire Congress party stood firmly, like a rock, with its candidate Ashu. He said Ashu will win from here with a record margin as he had seen overwhelming enthusiasm among the party’s rank and file.
Rana maintained that Ashu was the most popular leader in the area. He said he was known to serve people not only in Ludhiana but across the state. He said he had a strong and deep relationship with the people of Ludhiana, which goes back about 25 years.
Speaking on the occasion, Amritsar MP Gurjeet Aujla said that Ashu has represented the constituency twice earlier. He said, given his service and experience in the area, no leader or challenger can stand any chance against Ashu.
The Amritsar MP said that the Ludhiana West assembly by-election will set the tone for the 2027 Vidhan Sabha elections in Punjab and will come as a big morale booster for the Congress rank and file across the state.
Among others present on the occasion also included former ministers Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Sunder Sham Arora, former Punjab Youth Congress president Barinder Singh Dhillon, and others.
