51 students from Jharkhand meet Punjab Governor in Chandigarh

As part of the Yuva Sangam Programme, a cohort of 51 enthusiastic students from Jharkhand had the distinct privilege of interacting with the Governor of Punjab at the Punjab Raj Bhawan , Chandigarh.

Highlighting the significance of the Yuva Sangam Programme, Governor Shri Banwari Lal Purohit said that this programme falls under the umbrella of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s flagship initiative, Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat. It seeks to deepen the cultural connections and foster mutual understanding among the youth of different states across India.

Shri Purohit Governor also exhorted the students to adopt the principle of ‘Simple Living, High Thinking’ in their lives and impressed upon them to lead a live of honesty and integrity. Simultaneously, he brought home the need to put greater good before self and to put in their best to usher Viksit Bharat@2047.

The Governor expressed optimism about Yuva Sangam Programme’s potential to strengthen the fabric of our nation by nurturing cross-cultural bonds.

He reiterated that the collaboration between Punjab and Jharkhand will provide the students with a comprehensive and multidimensional understanding of Punjab’s culture. This immersive experience will not only enrich their academic journey but also foster a deeper appreciation for the cultural diversity that defines our nation.

Under this initiative, 22 Higher Education Institutions from across India have been paired, with Punjab and Jharkhand being one such pairing.

The Yuva Sangam Programme is a dynamic cultural exchange platform that celebrates the diversity of India. Through exposure tours, participants gain insights into various aspects of life, including natural landscapes, developmental achievements, and the vibrant culture of the host state.

The program, structured around the 5 Ps – Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Prodyogiki (Technology), and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect) – aligns seamlessly with the vision outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The interaction concluded on a high note, with the students expressing gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the Governor.
