The Department of Electrical Engineering of Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET), Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda organized a Two-Days Workshop on “Sustainable Solutions for Energy Auditing and Solar Systems” which concluded at MRSPTU auditorium.
The workshop was sponsored by Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST), Chandigarh for Environment Education Programme under Mission LiFE, Govt. of India. About 100 participants from University Main Campus and GZSCCET attended this workshop.
The purpose of this workshop was to identify, quantify, describe, and prioritize the framework of sustainable solutions in compliance with the applicable regulations, policies and standards.
Program Coordinator, Dr. Ashish Baldi informed that MRSPTU is organizing about 25 events in the category of awareness campaign, workshops, competitions, and exhibition on various themes identified under the Environment Education Program in Mission LiFE by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. He thanked PSCST for the grant to organize these events.
Campus Director Prof. Sanjiv Kumar Agarwal highlighted the importance of such workshops in real life.
During the Workshop, Er. Ashwani Goyal, Entrepreneur, Solar Coordinate Systems, Punjab delivered his talk on various issues related to solar installations and operations and possible solutions.
Dr. Gagandeep Kaur of MRSPTU delivered her talk on National Energy Policy and Government of India mandate and commitment for enhancement of Renewable Energy Sources.
Dr. Akhil Gupta, Academician from IKGPTU Jalandhar delivered a talk on Sustainable Solutions for Solar Energy and made the session interactive through case studies.
While Shri Senthil Kumar & his team from Kotturpuram, Chennai (Tamil Nadu) presented their case study on “Energy Audit” and discussed the case study of the university campus. Dr. Meenu, Academician from MRSPTU-Bathinda delivered her talk on “Green Practices as per Accreditation Framework”.
For this workshop, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Head, Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty and Staff of GZSCCET, MRSPTU-Bathinda played key roles as Convener and organizing committee, respectively.
MRSPTU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu appreciated the efforts of the entire organizing team and congratulated the participants and organizers on the success of this workshop.
