PAU’s former Soil Scientist Dr SS Dhaliwal conferred with distinguished Scientist Award

Dr SS Dhaliwal, an honorary member of International Zinc Association (IZA) and former Soil Scientist-cum-Incharge of ICAR-Micronutrients Research Project in the Department of Soil Science, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been conferred with “Distinguished Scientist Award” for his outstanding contribution to soil science and plant nutrition.

This award was bestowed on Dr Dhaliwal during the International Conference on “Recent Advances in Agriculture for Atmanirbhar Bharat,” organized by the CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar as chief patron in collaboration with the International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics,

Hyderabad; University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad; Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga, Karnataka; Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalay, Raipur, Chhattisgarh; Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University,

Telangana; Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalay, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh; AGRI MEET Foundation, Uttar Pradesh; Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh, Gujarat; GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand; and Directorate of Cashew Research, Puttur, Karnataka, from April 19-21.

The award comprised a memento and an appreciation certificate for his outstanding achievements in the development of technology for the research fraternity as well as the farmers of Punjab State.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, PAU Vice-Chancellor; Dr Ajmer Singh Dhatt, Director of Research; and Dr TS Riar, Additional Director Communication, congratulated Dr Dhaliwal for this achievement and wished him success in his future endeavors.
