A total of 1,033 students from various disciplines at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) recently attended expert-led career preparedness sessions designed to enhance their employability and industry readiness.
Organized by MRSPTU’s Training and Placement Department, the initiative aimed to equip students with essential skills and insights to navigate their professional journeys successfully.
The sessions covered key topics such as resume building, LinkedIn optimization, internships, and startup culture. Students from diverse fields—including Computer Science Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Management, Sciences, Agriculture, Food Science & Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Fashion Technology, and Computer Applications—actively participated, gaining valuable industry knowledge.
Er. Harjot Singh Sidhu, Director of Training & Placement at MRSPTU, led the sessions, offering expert guidance on professional profile building, employability enhancement, and adapting to evolving job market trends, particularly in emerging sectors like startups and digital platforms.
Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Brar, Registrar of MRSPTU, emphasized the significance of such initiatives, stating, “These sessions will play a crucial role in shaping students’ careers while fostering stronger industry-academia collaboration, ensuring a smooth transition into the workforce.”
Er. Harjot Singh Sidhu further highlighted the university’s commitment, stating, “The Career Preparedness Sessions are part of MRSPTU’s continuous efforts to ensure that students graduate not only with academic knowledge but also with the necessary skills to succeed in their professional endeavors.”
