The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organized a motivational talk by Dr Rajinder Singh Ranu, Professor Emeritus, Colorado State University, US, in the Committee Room of the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics.
The speaker talked his heart out on ‘Personal Reflections on the Journey of Professor HarGobind Khorana from a Small Village in Punjab to Nobel Prize’.
The significant glimpses of the life of Noble Laureate Professor Khorana were beautifully depicted through a presentation, showcasing his old and rare pictures along with warm description of the interactions that the speaker had with Professor Khorana at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Dr Ranu emphasized that high intellectual excellence, creativity, positive attitude, dedication towards his work, a disciplined life and immense modesty coupled with humbleness were the traits that today’s generation of people needed to imbibe from the inspirational life journey of Professor Khorana.
The audience interacted with the speaker and appreciated the massive information that they received in context of life of Professor Khorana in the path of achieving success.
The Vice-Chancellor of PAU Dr Satbir Singh Gosal also graced the occasion and lauded Dr Ranu for delivering an inspiring talk. The Heads of the departments and the faculty of the University attended the talk in large number.
