The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday morning when Anil Mehta reportedly fell from the 6th floor of his residence in the Ayesha Manor building in Bandra, Mumbai, at around 9:00 am. At the time, Malaika was en route to Pune for an event.

Malaika was born in Thane, Maharashtra. Her parents, Anil Arora and Joyce Polycarp, divorced when she was 11 years old. Following the separation, Malaika and her sister Amrita Arora moved to Chembur with their mother. Reports suggest that Joyce Polycarp, Malaika’s mother, shared details about the incident with the Mumbai Police. On the morning of the tragedy, Joyce noticed Anil Mehta’s slippers in the living room, which prompted her to look for him. When she couldn’t find him on the balcony, she leaned over the railing and saw that something was terribly wrong.
Allegedly, Anil Mehta had made phone calls to both of his daughters earlier that morning, saying, “I’m tired,” before he tragically fell from the balcony.
