Speaking on the budget, Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament , Rajya Sabha from Punjab have demanded that focused product sector should include bicycles, hosiery, knitwear and sports goods for Ludhiana and Jalandhar Industry, in addition to Footwear, Leather and Toys.
Dr. Sahney further demanded that upgrading of Air Cargo Facilities should include Mohali and Amritsar Airports and Cargo flights should be immediately started from these airports as Punjab is a Land Locked State.
Dr. Sahney further said that 100% procurement guarantee by government for Pulses and Oilseeds is a welcome step but government should also procure other MSP announced crops like Corn, Millets etc. in substantial quantities.
