SGPC chief Jagir Kaur inaugurates Steam Boilder project for preparing langar at Gurdwara Gurusar Jamni Sahib

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Bibi Jagir Kaur today inaugurated a steam boiler project for preparing langar at Gurdwara Gurusar Jamni Sahib Patshahi Dasvin, Bajidpur in Firozepur.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that a large number of devotees pay obeisance to the Guru Sahib at the historic Gurdwara Jamni Sahib.

She said SGPC works for the convenience of the Sangat (community) and in the recent past, it was decided that steam method would be used to prepare langar inside the historical Gurdwara Sahibs.

“With this method of preparing langar by steam there would be huge savings in fuel (wood) and pollution would also be reduced. At the same time, it will save a lot of time in preparing the langar. A steam boiler project was inaugurated today at Gurdwara Jamni Sahib with the support of the Sangat and Baba Jagtar Singh Karseva Tarn Taranwale”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.

SGPC President was also felicitated on the occasion while paying obeisance at Gurdwara Jamni Sahib.

During the inauguration, SGPC’s executive committee member S. Darshan Singh Sherkhan, members Satpal Singh Talwandi, S. Pritam Singh Malsian, S. Balwinder Singh Bhamba Landa, S. Gurmeet Singh Booh, Jathedar Darshan Singh Mothanwala, former minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon, former MLA Joginder Singh, manager Gurdwara Jamni Sahib S. Kulwant Singh and others were present.

Meanwhile, SGPC Bibi Jagir Kaur inaugurated a free medical camp organized by Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College and Hospital Vallah, Sri Amritsar dedicated to the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that while the SGPC looks after the management of the historical Gurdwaras, it also carries out the work of flourishing the Sikh faith, education as well as welfare of humanity.

She said a free medical camp is organized for the Sangat at Gurdwara Jamni Sahib today in which the patients were checked up by the doctors specializing in medicine, surgery, pediatrics, eye, nose, ear and orthopedics. She said that the patients who would need more treatment would be brought by free bus to Amritsar by the SGPC where they would be treated at Sri Guru Ramdas Hospital.

On this occasion, Dr Jaskaran Singh, Dr Babita Sareen, Dr Manpreet Kaur, Dr Iqbal Singh, Dr Rahul and other medical staff were present.
