Former President of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and former Union Minister Vijay Sampla has been appointed as the acting international president of Shri Guru Ravidass Vishwa Mahapeeth.
Accepting this prestigious position, Sampla expressed his deep respect and pride in taking up this new responsibility. He expressed that he is committed to spreading the ideals of Guru Ravidas Ji worldwide and pledged to make every effort to fulfill the objectives of the Mahapeeth.
Sampla said that his motive will be promoting equality, justice, and brotherhood in society.
Joining him in the new executive team are former Rajya Sabha member Dushyant Kumar Gautam as International President, Union Minister of State Dr. L Murugan as International Vice President, and former Uttarakhand MLA Suresh Rathore as National President.
The primary objective of the Shri Guru Ravidas Vishwa Mahapeeth is to disseminate the teachings of Guru Ravidas and to maintain the unity of the Hindu society by curbing the rapid increase in religious conversions in the country.
Suraj Bhan Kataria, General Secretary Organization of Shri Guru Ravidass Vishwa Mahapeeth, highlighted that Vijay Sampla’s previous tenure as National President of the Scheduled Caste Commission demonstrated his dedication and acceptance towards the community, leading to his current appointment.
“We are confident that Sampla Ji will become a strong voice against religious conversion,” Kataria said.
Vijay Sampla’s political journey is an inspiring story of determination and leadership. Born on April 6, 1961, in a humble family, his early life was marked by struggle.
His political career began as the Sarpanch of Sofi Pind near Jalandhar, followed by his association with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Sampla has held numerous key positions within the BJP, showcasing his commitment and dedication.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he won from the Hoshiarpur constituency and served as an MP. His tenure as Minister of State in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment was notable for significant contributions to the upliftment of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, implementing crucial schemes and policies in social justice, education, and employment sectors.
Sampla’s leadership qualities and organizational skills are also commendable. As the state president of Punjab BJP, he played an important role in strengthening the party and enhancing public engagement. He also has strong presence in Punjab, which underscores his capability in leadership and organizational management.
