Saints running back Alvin Kamara has recently listed his Belle Chasse home for sale, with an asking price of $2.75 million.
The decision to sell comes as Kamara negotiates a new contract with the Saints, as reported by Nola.com.
Kamara confirmed that he is selling the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom home, which was built in 2022.
“I wouldn’t say I had an exact plan, but I had plans,” Kamara explained. “I’m pretty intentional when it comes to those moves that I make with real estate. I have other properties around the city, too,” he said.
Kamara’s contract situation has been a point of tension recently. During the last day of mandatory minicamp, he walked out, frustrated over the lack of progress on a new deal.
Kamara is looking for a new contract as the Saints are not expected to pay his $22.4 million base salary next year, which comes with a $29 million cap hit.
According to Nola.com, the Saints could potentially save nearly $19 million in 2025 if they release Kamara before June 1 of that year.
Despite his contract situation, Kamara has attended all of the training camp sessions. He did miss more than a week due to back tightness but returned to the field on August 20 after the team came back from California.
Kamara stated on Monday that he does not want to discuss his contract any further until after the season ends.
