The World Punjabi Organization (WPO) hosted the grand WPO Vaisakhi Awards Gala 2026 at Taj Palace, New Delhi, celebrating excellence and the vibrant spirit of Vaisakhi—symbolising prosperity, new beginnings, and the rich cultural heritage of Punjab.
Organised under the aegis of Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Padma Shri, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and International President, WPO, the prestigious evening was graced by Hon’ble Governor of Punjab Shri Gulab Chand Kataria and Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
The gala honoured distinguished achievers including Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Raj Kundra, Sanjeev Juneja, Prabhtej Singh Bhatia, Geeta Basra, JJ Vallaya and several other eminent personalities across diverse domains, as part of a thoughtfully curated programme.
Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney said, Vaisakhi is not just a festival, it is a celebration of our identity, resilience, and collective spirit. Through these awards, we honour excellence across diverse fields including business leadership, cinema, entrepreneurship, journalism, social service, sports administration, fashion, media, hospitality, and global trade—recognising individuals who are shaping narratives, building institutions, and contributing meaningfully to society while carrying Punjab’s legacy to the world.
Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney further added, The World Punjabi Organization remains committed to connecting Punjabis worldwide through culture, enterprise and social impact. This platform is a tribute to those who lead with vision and purpose, and a reminder that Punjab’s spirit continues to shine globally.
Sh. Tarun Chugh, National General Secretary, BJP, Sdr Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Cabinet Minister, Delhi, and Sdr. Harmeet Singh Kalka, President, DSGMC were also present in the award function.
