Punjab Govt constitutes High-Powered Investment Committee to boost Investment in state

The Government of Punjab has formed High Powered Investment Committee comprising of Karan Randhawa Hon. NRI Coordinator Australia and Hon. NRI Coordinator UK Manjit Singh Nijjar to woo Foreign Investment.

The decision to form committee was taken in the meeting presided over by the Hon. NRI Affairs Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi. As per Notification Kripa Shankar Saroj IAS Additional Chief Secretary NRI affairs department will be Chariman, Rajat Agarwal CEO INVEST PUNJAB will be Vice Chairman, DPS Kharbanda special secretary NRI Affiars department will be Secretary Member, Invest Punjab Additional CEO will be member.

Apart from this Deepinder Dhillon Joint Director I.T Invest Punjab, Meena Dhesi Sanghera Hon. NRI Coordinator USA, Harnik Singh UAE will be members of the committee. Karan Randhawa told that this committee has been formed on the directions from Hon. Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Hon.

NRI Affairs Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi to aim development of the state through foreign investment. Apart from this, committee will also make efforts to help recover from post Covid -19 economic crisis taking into consideration of changing world economic scenario.

The main task of this committee will be to woo Foreign Investors in a strategic manner and to work towards to create coordination between NRI Affairs department and different departments of Punjab Government.

By including NRI’s to the committee will help create favourable environment to attract Foreign Investors and companies.

Karan Randhawa and Manjit Nijjar told that NRI community has applauded the decision to include NRIs in the said committee for the development of the state. It will prove a landmark decision for the socio-economic development of the state.
