The PAU Literary Society paid rich tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev during Shaheedi divas on Wednesday. Two prominent Punjabi writers Prof Gurbhajan Gill, former Senior Editor (Punjabi), PAU was the chief guest, while Raj Lali Batala, a PAU alumni, was the guest of honour.
While welcoming, Dr TS Riar, Additional Director Communication, said that focus of PAU has always been on agricultural research, yet it has equally promoted culture and literature. This programme aimed at enabling the youth to learn from the life of martyrs, he added.
Eminent writers, namely Jaswant Zafar, Satish Gulati, Swarnjit Savi, Tarlochan Lochi, Manjinder Dhanoa, Jaspreet kaur, Sandeep Sharma and Devinder Dilroop recited their poetic verses.
Dr Anil Sharma, President of the Society, proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was conducted by Dr Jagwinder Singh.
