Dr Devinder Kaur Kocher, Professor (Zoology), Department of Zoology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been conferred with the prestigious “Prof TN Ananthakrishnan Award” by the Society of Medical Arthropodology for her outstanding contributions to the control of vector mosquitoes.
She received the award during the 16th International Conference of Medical Arthropodology on “Emerging and Reemerging Infectious Vector-borne and Zoonotic Diseases: Impact of Climate Change and Global Warming,” held at the University of Calicut, Kerala from December 13-15, 2023.
Besides, she presented an invited talk on “Larvicidal potential of laboratory extracted and commercially available essential oils against Aedesaegypti” at the conference. The conference was well attended by the distinguished scientists from India and abroad.
Dr SS Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr AS Dhatt, Director of Research; Dr Shammi Kapoor, Dean, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities; and Dr Tejdeep Kaur, Head, Department of Zoology; congratulated Dr Kocher for bringing laurels to PAU and wished her all success in her future endeavours.
