The ongoing agitation of the university teachers for the UGC pay scales in front of the Thapar Hall of PAU continued with full vigor and enthusiasm today. The teachers unions of PAU and veterinary university reiterated their pledge not to carry out any work until the Pay Commission’s notification is issued.
Addressing the protest, PAUTA President Dr. Harmeet Singh Kingra and Secretary Dr Mandeep Singh Gill said that the State govt is unnecessarily delaying the notification although it has already implemented the revised pay scales in other traditional universities in September 2022.
Dr Jagwinder Singh Jodha appealed to the Punjab Govt Not to test the patience of the learned faculty of PAU and GADVSAU whose contribution in the economy of state cannot be ignored.
Dr APS Brar from GADVASU also addressed the protesting faculty.
Later the faculty marched through the various colleges and departments of PAU and GADVASU.
