PAU Agronomy alumnus Dr Ramawatar Yadav selected as assistant professor at US-Ohio state university

An alumnus of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Dr Ramawatar Yadav has brought laurels to his alma-mater by getting selected as an Assistant Professor in Specialty Crop Weed Science and Management, Department of Horticulture and Crop Science, Ohio State University (OSU), USA.

He earned his Ph.D. in Weed Science from the Iowa State University (2021) following his M.Sc. in Agronomy from PAU, India (2014). Previously, he served as Postdoc Research Associate in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Wyoming, USA.

At OSU, he will be working on integrated weed management technologies in specialty crops along with teaching and extension.

The main research areas will be addressing the crop-weed antagonistic interactions with the intent of enhancing crop competitiveness and weed-crop interactions under changing climatic conditions.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, congratulated Dr Yadav for this significant achievement.

Dr MIS Gill, Dean, Postgraduate Studies, and Dr Hari Ram, Head, Department of Agronomy, also hailed Dr Yadav and believed that good collaborative research efforts for developing effective integrated weed management strategies will be undertaken in the future.
