Chandigarh, July 12, 2022 (Yes Punjab News)
Former Punjab Forest Minister and former Punjab Pradesh Congress Acting President Sangat Singh Gilzian has not been given any relief by a court.
A Mohali court today rejected his bail plea in a case of alleged corruption committed during his ministerial tenure.
It may be recalled that on learning of the registration of a case against him, Gilzian had directly approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court requesting quashing of the case against him. The court, however, dismissed his petition asking him that he should first file his bail application before the lower court.
It is worth mentioning that after the revelations made by a D.F.O and a Contractor about former ministers Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and Sangat Singh Gilzian, the Vigilance Bureau arrested Mr. Dharamsot while Mr. Gilzian was nominated in the case.
Now that the lower court has rejected Gilzian’s bail application, he has the option to file a bail petition in the High Court.
