The Central Communication Bureau of Communication of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India organised a district level program on Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita at Dev Samaj College for Women. District & Sessions Judge Virinder Agarwal graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest District & Sessions Judge Virinder Agarwal said that Dr. Ranbir Singh Committee was constituted for delibrations on 3 new criminal laws in 2020. The Chief Guest not only informed about the new provisions of these laws but also highlighted the impact of them on system and the common people.
The Hon’ble District & Sessions Judge said that the new laws will bring transparency in police investigation and special provisions have been made to deal with terrorism.
While addressing from the podium, DSP Bhupinder Singh said that the new criminal laws have impacted the lives of common people positively. He also gave information about E-Sakshya App and said that it has changed the procedure of police investigation. As per new law, the videography of the arrest, seizure and crime scene is required to be uploaded on this app.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurmeet Singh (IIS), FPO, Central Communications Bureau, Ministry of I&B, said that three new criminal laws have come into force in the country from July 1, which have replaced IPC 1860, CRPC 1973 and Indian Evidence Act 1872.
The extensive use of modern technology and making electronic evidence part of the law in these laws have paved the way for early disposal of cases.
Besides this, Deputy District Education Officer Pargat Singh Brar, Principal Jagdeep Pal Singh, Principal Sangeeta Sharma, Dr. Mokshi, Dr. Sapna Badhwar and Dr. Jagriti also addressed on this occasion. During the program, the Nukkad Natak presented by the Punjabi Sabhyacharak Kala Manch and the eye catching performances of the students were point of attraction.
