Chandigarh, Nov 17, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)
The 8th Military Literature Festival, Chandigarh got off to a spectacular start this morning with a solemn, impressive Wreathlaying at the Regional War Memorial, Sector 3 by HE Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh. Two minutes silence was observed and the sacrifices and valour of the martyrs and soldiers who fought in the Kargil War, 1999 remembered.
Later the Bravehearts Ride in commemoration of the martyrs and soldiers who fought in the Kargil War was flagged off from outside the Chandigarh Club, Sector 1. 800 motorbikes with riders representing 43 different clubs and organisations took part. It was a fantastic occasion and the Tricity roared to the sound of modern engines steered by agile riders.
The theme of homage to the Kargil Martyrs and heroes has drawn remarkable response throughout the bike riding community of Punjab and Northern India. They’ve responded with true patriotic fervour by joining the ride. An absolutely magnificent gesture by the youth of Punjab and Northern India to display their patriotism on their sleeves and be there to honour the true Bravehearts of the Kargil conflict. We truly appreciate and applaud their gesture.
In the end it would be only fitting to acknowledge the hard work, sustained effort and bright imagination shown by Colonel RPS Brar and his organising team overseen by Brigadier JS Arora and Colonel TS Dhaliwal. Our grateful thanks too to the volunteers for their dedication and enthusiasm.
A big thank you to the Punjab Govt, Western Command, Chandigarh Administration and the National Cadet Corps.
