Sh. Deepak Pareek, IPS, SSP Mansa briefed during press conference that cases of cyber crime and online frauds are increasing with the advancement & availability of technology. Some of the most common online frauds include OTP frauds, OLX frauds, insurance frauds, Paytm/G Pay frauds, fake social media accounts and cyber stalking. In many cases immediate reporting of cyber crime to police/banks helps in getting the money back by blocking the transactions/accounts of the cyber criminal.
Time is of utmost importance in case of the reporting of cyber crimes. In order to provide a 24 Hours convenient mechanism for the citizens to easily report cyber frauds, Mansa police has started a 24 Hours CYBER HELP DESK. This help Desk is located adjacent to the SSP Office, on the ground Floor. Just like a Ticket window, there is a Help desk window which is open 24 Hours for the convenience of the people.
Any victim of cyber fraud or any complainant can drop a Complaint at the help desk window at any time during day or night. The experts available in cyber Cell will take prompt & immediate action on the complaint, including sending Online requests for blocking the transaction or reporting a fake profile.
This initiative is aimed at providing Convenience of complaining & immediate relief to the victims of cyber frauds .For this, the strength of cyber cell Mansa has been increased, special training has been imparted to the cyber cell team and an inspector rank officer has been appointed as officer-in-charge of the cyber cell.
Apart from the 24 Hours Helpdesk, complaints can also be sent to the email ID [email protected]. The Police personnel posted at the help desk will be very helpful and courteous to the complainants, and will also answer all the queries related to the follow up action taken on a complaint.
The help desk will also provide assistance to citizens in drafting and submitting complaints. The cyber cell will also carry out special drives in schools, colleges, mohalls and through social media/press media to raise awareness regarding cyber frauds and their preventions.
