Mansa Police arrested 43 in 39 drug-related cases in a week : SSP Gaurav Toora

Sh. Gaurav Toora, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police Mansa briefed that the Mansa Police has adopted “Zero Tolerance” policy to eradicate the drug abuse in the district. Acting upon this and in compliance of the directions of Hon’ble Director General of Police, Punjab and Inspector General of Police Bathinda Range Bathinda, a special campaign is already been going on against the drug smugglers and drug peddlers. In the series of this Mansa Police tightened noose around the drug smugglers during this week ( 04-07-2022 to 10-07-2022).

Mansa Police has got registered 22 cases of NDPS act arresting 26 accused by recovering 2414 intoxicant pills, 98 gm Heroin 3 syrup vials and 1 Kg Poppy husk. Mansa Police has registered 16 Cases arresting 15 accused by recovering 840 Kg Lahan, 118 ltr licit liquor, 24 ltr illicit liquor, and 3 working stills. In the series of this Mansa police has registered FIR under section 188 IPC and recovered 390 signature capsules.

Mansa Police has got succeed to trace out 3 cases of snatching and 5 accused have been arrested, 2 mobile phones and 3 motorcycle have been recovered from the accused. District Police also arrested 2 PO’s under section 299 Cr.P.C. In the series of this, after obtaining suitable orders from Hon’ble Court 24 vehicles of (worth 3,09,600/-Rs) have been disposed off.

SSP, Mansa added that accused of NDPS Act have been produced before the Hon’ble Court of competent jurisdiction, police remand have been obtained, further investigations is being conducted to ascertain backward and forward linkage of the drug smugglers. This campaign against the anti social elements like Gangsters, POs, Smugglers will be kept up in future also.
