In a jolt to Shiromani Akali Dal, former Balluana MLA Parkash Singh Bhatti was Saturday welcomed into Congress fold by PPCC President and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and LoP Partap Singh Bajwa.
Sources said that Bhatti had joined Congress a few days ago in the presence of Congress’ Punjab Affairs incharge Devendra Yadav.
Balluana was elected to Punjab Legislative Assembly from Balluana in 2002 on Congress ticket but had later joined Shiromani Akali Dal.
While Bajwa termed his joining as ‘home coming’ Warring said that the Congress has been
gaining strength by the day.
“We will all work towards the betterment of Punjab and with the efforts and experience of
such able leaders our party’s mission becomes even stronger,” Warring said.
