In order to ensure safety and security of the cops deployed on duty at containment zones and other vulnerable places the district administration has decided to provide Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Kits to the cops.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, while leading a flag march in the city, said that the kits would be provided to all the cops who were rendering 24X7 duty at the containment zones. They said that these brave hearts were imparting their duty for the sake of humanity and they must be ensured protection from the Covid 19. Both the officers said besides containment zones the cops deployed at highly vulnerable Civil Hospital would also be provided these kits.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police also said that a special drive has also been started to provide sanitizer, soaps, masks, drinking water coolers, chairs and tables for the cops on duty at roads. They said that this material would be supplied at all the nakas so that cops were able to perform their duty diligently.
Both the officers said that besides ensuring safety and security of the people, the protection of the cops and other frontline staff was also the moral duty of the administration. The officers also exhorted the people to stick to the twin golden principle of ‘self home quarantine’ and social distancing to keep the corona virus at bay.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police conducted the flag march from Skylark chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Guru Amardass Chowk, Link Road, Dr. Ambedkar Chowk, Bhagwan Valmiki (Jyoti) Chowk, Basti Adda Chowk, Jail Chowk, Patel Chowk, Workshop Chowk, DAV College, Maqsoodan Chowk, Verka Milk Plant, Sarb Multiplex, Pathankot Chowk, Lamma Pin Chowk, Chuggiti Chowk, PAP Chowk, BSF Chowk, Defence Colony, Mota Singh Nagar, Bus Stand and BMC Chowk.
