Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, Sanjeev Arora, stated on Monday that he is a law-abiding citizen and would fully cooperate with the authorities in any way possible. His statement comes after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at his residence and office premises in Ludhiana.
According to reports, the ED carried out the raids at Sanjeev Arora’s home and office, along with other locations on Chandigarh Road in Ludhiana, as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged money laundering case.
Following the raids, the AAP Parliamentarian took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “I am a law-abiding citizen. I am not sure about the reason for the search operation, but I will cooperate fully with the agencies and ensure all their queries are addressed.”
In response, the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP criticized the BJP and the central government over the ED raids targeting one of its lawmakers.
Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia labeled it as another witch-hunt aimed at harassing AAP leaders. Referring to his own and Kejriwal’s past experiences with similar actions, Sisodia stated that such tactics would not intimidate them.
“Once again, Modi ji has let loose his ‘parrot.’ Since this morning, the ED is raiding the home of AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora. Over the past two years, they’ve raided Arvind Kejriwal’s house, my house, Sanjay Singh’s house, Satyendra Jain’s house… and found nothing. Yet, Modi ji’s agencies continue making one fake case after another,” he added.
Sisodia further asserted that despite such efforts to break the party, AAP leaders would neither be silenced nor intimidated.
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also condemned the central government, accusing it of using agencies like the ED to target opposition leaders.
“Another day, another raid. ED officials have arrived at AAP MP Sanjeev Arora’s house. Modi ji’s fake case-making machine runs 24/7 against the Aam Aadmi Party. Even after the Supreme Court’s reprimands to stop filing false cases, the ED refuses to learn. These agencies only follow their masters, not the court. But Modi ji’s arrogance cannot match the courage of AAP leaders. Using fake cases and raids, you will not be able to break an honest party,” Singh stated on X.
