Dr. Monu Bal, originally from Punjab and now residing in Toronto, Canada, visited Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) along with her son, who is currently in class 12.
Dr. Bal shares a deep-rooted connection with PAU, having spent her childhood playing in the university’s playfields.
Her father, a renowned sportsman and Mr. Punjab, frequently visited PAU’s grounds to inspire budding athletes.During their visit, Dr. Bal shared her admiration for PAU’s excellence in agriculture with her children, instilling in them a respect for the university’s global reputation.
Motivated by his mother’s stories and the pivotal role PAU plays in advancing agriculture, her son expressed a keen interest in exploring PAU as a potential career path. He recognized the significance of agriculture in Punjab and its future prospects, acknowledging that the world’s dependency on agriculture underscores its importance as a profession.
The family visited the Museum of Social History of Punjab and engaged in a meaningful interaction with Dr. Tejinder Singh Riar, Additional Director of Communication at PAU. In recognition of their visit, they were honored with PAU souvenirs.
The visit concluded with a tour of various departments at GADVASU, further highlighting PAU’s global influence and its contributions to agricultural research and education.
